Electric Rice Cooker/Warmers
- When I’m using the cooker, the electric cord and the plug become abnormally hot.
- * Are you using more than 220 volts?
* Are you using a single outlet and more than 10 amps?
* Can you find any damage on the cord?
* Is there any dust on the plug?
* Is the plug securely fastened in the outlet?
* Are you using a cord other than the one supplied with the cooker?
* When you pull out the plug, do you always pull the plug itself instead of the cord?
* Are you putting multiple loads on one electrical outlet?
--> There is a risk of fire or electric shock. Please stop using the cooker and make inquiries.
- Smoke comes out of the jar and it smells like something's burned.
- * Are there any rice grains on the sensor or outside of the inner pot?
--> Take out any loose rice grains. If it doesn’t get better, please make inquiries.
- Deformed inner pot.
- * Have you ever dropped the inner pot?
--> That may be the cause if you can’t make rice or can’t keep the rice warm. You may need to exchange parts. Please make inquiries.
- Can't make rice well.
- * You selected the wrong menu key.
--> Push menu key and select the correct key.
* Can you find any burned rice or loose rice grains anywhere in the cooker?
--> Remove all loose rice grains. If that doesn't work, please make inquiries.
Is the inner pot deformed?
--> You need to exchange parts. Make inquiries.
- Cooking rice didn't finish at the expected time.
- * Did you set the present time correctly?
* Did you set AM and PM correctly?
--> Please set the time correctly by following the instruction manual.
* Did you remove any burned rice or loose rice grains?
--> Please take out all loose rice. If that doesn’t work, make inquiries.
* Is the inner pot deformed?
--> You need to exchange parts. Make inquiries.
* Did you measure rice incorrectly, or other ingredients or water?
--> Check your measurement of rice, ingredients or water.
* Have you had a long time power failure?
--> Please look up the answer regarding power failures.*1
- I can’t set the timer. (microcomputer type cooking jar)
- *Is it flashing 0:00 am?
--> Please set the time correctly by following the instruction manual.
*On the menu settings, Rice with assorted mixtures or Sweet rice cooked with red beans, I can’t set the timer.
--> Please use other menu options to set the timer.
- It takes a long time to finish cooking.
- * Did you make the wrong menu selection?
--> Check the menu again.
* Do you find any burned rice or rice grains anywhere in the cooker?
--> Take out all loose rice grains. If that doesn’t work, make inquiries.
* Is the inner pot deformed?

* Did you measure rice incorrectly, or other ingredients or water?
--> Check your measurement of rice, ingredients or water.
* Have you had a long time power failure?
--> Please look up the answer page regarding power failures.*1
- There’s a steam leak, or a boil-over.
- * Did you select the wrong menu?
--> Please check the menu again.
* Do you find any burned rice or rice grains any place?
--> Take out all rice grains. If that doesn’t work, make inquiries.
* Did you measure rice incorrectly, or other ingredients or water?
--> Check your measurement of rice, ingredients or water.
* Did you measure rice incorrectly, or other ingredients or water?
* Did you wash the rice thoroughly?
--> Please wash rice well.
- Rice is too hard or too soft.
- * Did you make the wrong menu selection?
--> Please check the menu again.
* Do you find any burned rice or rice grains any place?
--> Take out all rice grains. If that doesn’t work, make inquiries.
* Is the inner pot deformed?
--> You need to exchange parts. Make inquiries.
* Did you measure rice incorrectly, or other ingredients or water?
--> Check your measurement of rice, ingredients or water.
* Did you loosen well after cooking?
--> After you finish cooking, please loosen the rice well with a paddle.
* Have you had a long time power failure?
--> Please look up the answer page regarding a power failure.*1
- I have scorched rice.
- * Did you make the wrong menu selection?
--> Please check the menu again.
* Do you find any burned rice or rice grains any place?
--> Take out all rice grains. If that doesn’t work, make inquiries.
* Is the inner pot deformed?
--> You need to exchange parts. Make inquiries.
* Did you measure rice incorrectly, or other ingredients or water?
--> Check your measurement of rice, ingredients or water.
* Did you wash the rice thoroughly?
--> Please wash rice well.
* When you set the timer...
--> Rice bran collects easily at the bottom of the pot. That’s why it’s so easy to burn the rice.
* You may pick the Select scorched rice menu (when your menu has that selection).
* You soak the rice in water for a long time.

- While keeping the rice warm, there’s a bad smell, or the rice dries up or changes color.

* Did you set the timer for more than 12 hours?
* Have you had a long time power failure?

* Did you measure the rice correctly, ingredients or water?

* Did you loosen well after cooking?
[Bad smell, dries up, changed color]
* Are you keeping the rice warm for more than 12 hours, or are you setting Tsuya-tsuya Keep Warm more than 24 hours?

* Do you have any burned rice or rice grains on any rubber packing parts or on the edge of the inner pot?
* Did you reheat more than three times?
- The indicator is clouded up with steam.
- * Do you have any burned rice or rice grains on any rubber packing parts or on the edge of the inner pot?
--> Take out all rice grains. If that doesn’t work, make inquiries.
* Does the outside of the inner pot get wet?
--> When you put in the inner pot, wipe the outside of it well.
- Water got into the lid.
- Depending on the situation of how you’re using the cooker or the surrounding circumstances of use, it may happen that some water or steam gets into the lid.
You need to exchange parts. Make inquiries.
- The keep warm time is flashing.
- * Are you using Keep warm for more than 25 hours?
--> There’s a bad smell or the rice has dried up. Eat the rice as soon as possible or move the leftover rice to a different container.
- How to take care of the cooker after a power failure.*1
- * If an external power failure has occurred, but only for a short time, then there’s a possibility that when the electricity has returned, all functions may work normally and the clock is working correctly.
* When a power failure lasts for a long time, and the indicator is flashing 0:00...
--> Please set the time correctly by following the instruction manual.
If the electricity has returned as in these situations below:
(If it’s already past the set time, after a lengthy power failure, cooking starts immediately.)
* While cooking rice (or reheating rice).
--> Continue to do the cooking (or reheating).
* Keeping warm (or Tsuya-Tsuya Keeping warm).
--> Continue to keep warm (or Tsuya-Tsuya Keeping warm).
- Damaged rubber packing parts or resin finished parts.
- * The rubber packing parts and resin finished parts which touch water or steam are articles of consumption. So when you are using them, they may get damaged.
--> Changing some inner parts is not easy for the customer. Please make inquiries. Rubber packing parts and resin finished parts have passed food sanitation laws, so feel relieved and at ease.
- Other miscellaneous abnormalities or problems.
- Repair or checking might be necessary so please stop using and make inquiries.
