Company History
- 1923
- The late Takenori Kikuchi founded the original firm, Kikuchi Manufacturing Company in Osaka and started the manufacture of TIGER brand vacuum bottles.
- 1952
- Its head office and factory moved to Taisho-ku, Osaka. The Tokyo office was established.
- 1953
- Its company name was changed to Tiger Vacuum Bottle Ind, Co., Ltd.
- 1955
- Its head office and factory moved to Joto-ku, Osaka in order to meet the remarkably increasing demand for vacuum bottles.
- 1958
- Tiger is honored to be the first manufacturer of the JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) factory in the vacuum bottle industry.
- 1963
- Tiger constructed a new factory in Kadoma, Osaka, which was at that time the largest in the field.
- 1966
- Tiger was appointed as a model factory of quality control by the Government.
- 1967
- Tiger introduced the automated vacuum bottle manufacturing system, which was the first in the vacuum bottle industry.
- 1968
- The late Takenori Kikuchi was selected as Chairman and Yoshito Kikuchi promoted to President.
- 1970
- Tiger established its own sales company, Tiger Products Co., Ltd. and Nobuo Shirae was appointed President.
- 1971
- Tiger constructed a new head office, a new factory and an integrated mass production system and started to produce rice warmers.
- 1978
- Tiger completed expansion of its head office with Building 3 and completed Ikoma Ground.
- 1982
- Tiger completed the head office distribution center.
- 1983
- On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, the company name was changed to Tiger Vacuum Bottle Co., Ltd. and a new corporate system including its new symbol mark, logo and slogan was introduced.
Tiger constructed Tiger Vacuum Bottle Center where stainless steel vacuum bottles are manufactured by means of a fully automatic vacuumized system.
- 1986
- Tiger incorporated the use of a CAD system. Tosu distribution center was completed.
- 1987
- Tiger constructed a metal pressing factory for stainless steel vacuum bottles at Tiger Vacuum Center.
- 1988
- The company incorporated the use of the Tiger production control system (TOPICS).
- 1989
- Tiger incorporated the use of an online sales and distribution system (TOPS).
- 1990
- Tiger established Tiger Vacuum Bottle, Taiwan Co., Ltd., a joint stock manufacturing company in Taiwan.
- 1991
- Tiger established Tiger Hanbai( H.K.) Co., Ltd., its own sales company in Hong Kong.
- 1995
- Tiger constructed a second major factory and warehouse at the site of its head office.
- 1997
- Tiger constructed an eastern distinct distribution center in Tochigi prefecture to cover eastern Japan.
Tiger established Shanghai Tiger-born electronic & electrical Appliance Co., Ltd., a joint stock manufacturing company in China.
- 1999
- Tiger Corporation merged its sales company Tiger Products Co., Ltd. Yoshisato Kikuchi is promoted to New president.
- 2001
- The HO Plant is granted ISO9001 accreditation.
- 2002
- JAPAN TIGER CORPORATION OF U.S.A. was established.
